Course – Saltmarshes: botany & ecology

This course covers the recognition and identification of the higher plants of saltmarsh and saline dyke habitats and the zonation of saltmarsh vegetation.

Participants will be able to explore the extensive saltmarshes surrounding the Wat Tyler Country Park and work together on recording transects across the saltings. The level is suitable for beginners, for which the FSC foldout chart Saltmarsh Plants of Britain will be supplied, together with more specialized illustrated keys to critical genera for more advanced participants.

Fee £42 20% off for Essex Field Club members. Price includes FSC foldout 'Saltmarsh Plants of Britain' and lunch at the Wat Tyler Cafe.

This course runs at the Green Centre from 09.45 to 17.00.
